People We Love | Matt Scanlan

Posted on Feb 9, 2017

To say Naadam Cashmere co-founder Matt Scanlan’s story is legendary would be an understatement. In an epic turn of events (the type that can only be described as “fate”), Matt quit his job at a New York City venture capital firm and embarked on a 20-hour journey across Mongolia where he met a group of nomadic herders who for centuries have produced some of the highest quality cashmere in the world. Inspired by the trek, Matt and business partner Diederik Rijsemus founded Naadam Cashmere. The business produces high-quality, eco-friendly garments, while actively supporting the nomadic herders who produce the materials. We caught up with the NYC-based entrepreneur to see what makes him tick.

How To Clean The Ice Maker

Posted on Jan 26, 2017

 BLOGICE

Often overlooked, the ice maker is an area of your home that should be cleaned regularly as food particles and crumbs can find their way inside. We recommend cleaning your ice maker four times per year to keep things fresh. There’s no need to worry about The Laundress products coming into contact with food-related surfaces. All of our products are toxin-free, eco-friendly, and cruelty-free. Of course, you’ll want to wipe and rinse surfaces properly, so cleaners don’t compromise the taste of your ice.

How To Clean Faux Fur Favorites

 Untitled-2

If you’re like us, you can’t wait to pull out your faux fur fashion for wearing all fall and winter long. What happens when something lands on your favorite faux fur vest or your beanie’s furry accents? Good news! Faux fur is typically constructed with acrylic, mod-acrylic, nylon, rayon, and polyester – all of which are washable fabrics. You can identify a garment made with faux fur by referencing the sewn-in care label or noting the following distinctions: a woven or knitted backside, thick pile if medium to long length pile, and flexible and lightweight.

Follow this how-to, and keep your washable and non-washable faux fur looking new for years.
