Professional dancer turned fitness trainer Simone De La Rue, has a passion for helping others feel confident with their physique. With names like Reese Witherspoon, Julianne Hough, and Sandra Bullock among her fan base, The Laundress ladies often find themselves sashaying into Simone’s studios for the famous cardio dance classes. We wanted to learn more about the mastermind behind Body By Simone, and jumped at the chance to chat with her about gym bag necessities, morning meals, her go-to Laundress product, and so much more!


I founded Body by Simone because…

I wanted to create a safe place where women could feel inspired and motivated to become the best versions of themselves.

A place I always feel inspired is…

My studios. I am very proud of what I have created and the team we have. My clients inspire me every day.

Being a dancer has influenced me by…

I am extremely disciplined and focused due to the intense training that you go through as a child, especially in the ballet world.

The first thing I eat in the AM is…

A flat white coffee and Vegemite on gluten free toast (Vegemite is an Australian spread).

My gym bag necessities include…

Dry shampoo, my Newton trainers, and my iPod with a kick ass playlist.

My biggest guilty pleasure is…

Indulging in chocolate. Lindt is my favorite. I have a slight obsession.

The Sport Spray. It makes everything fresh! :)

The advice I would give to succeed in the fitness world is…

You have to be passionate about fitness and well-being and want to actually work with people to help transform them. The physical and mental demand is intense.

My favorite part of a workout is…

The dance cardio routines. When the music is pumping and a room full of women is dancing as one, the good endorphins kick in, and everyone is smiling.
